We have been pleased to provide Little Downham Baptist Chapel with a grant for the general refurbishment of the chapel’s windows, which included replacement of rotten frames, some reglazing and painting. The grant also assisted in the redecoration of the toilet facilities and some exterior doors.

2010 update - The church writes:
“The work in this small rural community continues, the chapel doors being open for a service every Sunday evening at 6.30pm. Congregations usually number between 8 and 12, and it is not unusual to have 14. We have been encouraged by the addition of a Christian man to our regular number.
Some older members of our congregation are less regular than they were, due to age, mobility and medical difficulties, but it is good to see them making an effort to attend quite regularly.
Our monthly 'At Home' meetings have met with a measure of support, in that one very anti-religious friend, attends regularly and eagerly. We have recently had two other friends from our congregation joining us.
Last year we hosted the Good Companions annual service, and we have been asked to do so again next year. This brings over 40 local people inside our chapel and under the sound of the Gospel. Last year's led to some very favourable comments and some promises which are still awaiting fulfilment!
We are involved in many aspects of the community life and a number of its organisations and societies. We have been invited to continue a ministry at a reopening Residential Care Home in the village. Before its closure about two years ago we conducted regular services there.
We were considering a simple amplification and loop system but have decided that we cannot afford it at present. We had an unexpectedly high electricity bill after the long cold winter, have purchased a digital keyboard for our Residential Care Home ministry, and expect a significant bill for the repair of our chapel organ.
We believe we are shedding a little light and salt into this community, and the Lord is encouraging us to continue. We are thankful for all He is giving, and prayerful for souls and servants. In a day of small things, we are encouraged and thankful. ”
